This book on the parables is different than any other book on the subject that I've read. Many, if not most of the other works I have come across on the parables come at them from a very different perspective. Many commentators assume that Jesus told parables to make His teaching easier to understand. To make his teaching accessible in order to reach as many people as possible. And although that sounds good, the reality is that Jesus spoke in parables to unbelievers, not to make the truth clear, rather to hide it from them as judgement.

In this wonderful book, Pastor MacArthur helps Christians understand the essential lessons Jesus was teaching His people through these parables. This book is easy to read yet it is comprehensive in that it covers all of our Lords parables chapter by chapter. The introduction of the book is very helpful. It tells the reader why they should understand the parables the way that Pastor John explains them. It also spends some time giving specific reasons why Jesus began to teach in this way. It then gives some important information regarding definitions and details.

This book will bless your soul if you will take the time to read it.
