George Whitefield by: Arnold A. Dallimore
I have found in my Christian walk that one of the most encouraging things I can do is read a good biography. With that being said, there is no better individual to read about than the great Evangelist George Whitefield.
This book by Dallimore gives a great summary of his life. Though it's not as exhaustive as other biographies, it's extremely readable and keeps the reader engaged.
In the first half of the book, various aspects of Whitefield's life are highlighted. From his conversion, his open-air ministry, the sad division that took place between he and the Wesley brothers; his laboring in the first awakening, to his marriage.
The second half discusses the beginning organization of Methodism, the Gospel being brought to the aristocracy in England, his continued labor, all the way to his death.
If you're looking to further your knowledge about godly men, I recommend this book!
