God’s Battle Plan for the Mind by: David W. Saxton

When we hear the word “Meditation” it brings to our mind visions of some bearded, long haired middle eastern guru with his legs crossed and arms outstretched. He usually has his eyes closed, his hands resting on his knees, his index fingers and thumbs pursed together pointing upwards to the stars as he hums and breaths deeply.  This new age mystical idea of meditation has caused most Christians to pull away from the practice.

However, biblical meditation is essential to our growth as followers of Christ.

In this book, we are given a wonderful reminder of this with helpful instructions on how to get started. Pulling from the Puritans, Saxton points out the unbiblical forms of meditation, defines biblical meditation and then proceeds to give clear instructions on occasional, deliberate, and reasons for meditation. He also points out the benefits and enemies of meditation.

If your walk with the Lord has grown stale and you desire to draw near to Him once again, this book will be helpful in this area. Pick it up today and begin the journey.
